Bring a calculator (scientific calculators are acceptable)

Note: (1) you need to explain (= show the work for) your answers in order to get credit;
          (2) you are only allowed to have the exam and a calculator (if needed); 
                if you are caught with any extra material (e.g. extra sheets of paper) your exam
                will be immediately collected and you will get 0 points for this exam.
          (3) if you do not stop writing when told so at the end, a penalty of 10 points will be
                applied to your score.

• Reading: Chapters 2, 3 and 4 in the textbook 
• Practice problems:
All the exercises in Chapters 2, 3 and 4 in the textbook.  No peeking at the answers until you have made a very serious effort!
